Stand1

The Salvation Army’s annual Weekend of Prayer for Victims of Sex Trafficking will take place September 23-24, 2011. Our divisional theme for the weekend is “STAND” because we believe that all of us need to stand for those who are in bondage of sexual slavery, stand with each victim and those who work on the front lines, and stand against the evil that is sex trafficking.

Stand2

‘But the Lord stands beside me like a great warrior. Before him my persecutors will stumble. They cannot defeat me. They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated. Their dishonor will never be forgotten. …Though I was poor and needy, he rescued me from my oppressors.’ Jeremiah 20: 11, 13b

All are requested to join us in prayer and in intercession for all those who are being trafficked.

The vision is for Christians around the world to fast and to pray sincerely, compassionately and intelligently for victims of sexual trafficking. In years past, Christians have organized prayer and awareness in their workplaces, in their churches and in their communities.

Our hope is that this form of the slave trade will be abolished, that all people involved in human trafficking will find restoration, and that victims will be cared for in body, mind and spirit.

Ideas, prayer resources, and information about the weekend and about human trafficking can be found at: www.salvationist.ca/trafficking
